SYNOPSIS

Selma starts her second year at the Rosenholm Gymnasium with new friends and a desire to move on from a broken relationship. On the last night of summer, she meets Johan. He’s slightly older, charming and, as it turns out, her new music teacher. As their connection deepens into a secret romance, Johan helps Selma rediscover her passion for music. But the relationship also forces her to confront hidden parts of herself and navigate the consequences of a love which must stay secret.

MOGENS HAGEDORN ABOUT HIS FILM

Pretty Young Love is a vibrant and life-affirming film about love - an inviting and widely appealing story on the surface but one that, beneath the sweeping romance, says something deeply important about what it means to be human.

At its core, the film celebrates the powerful volcano of harmony that is our own inner voice if only we dare listen to it and are brave enough to follow it.

At the heart of the film is a forbidden love story and the overwhelming chaos of contradictory emotions that Selma must navigate before she begins to find her own path.
